Resin art care

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind made with the highest quality resin and pigments. Multiple layers of resin help to create dimension and mirror the look of the ocean. The resin has been cured for the approved period before being shipped to ensure a strong and long-lasting product. Disclaimer: All resins will yellow over time it is the chemical makeup of resin. You can follow the steps below to lengthen the time but eventually all resin will yellow.

basic Resin art care

  • Do not place art in direct sunlight as this will dull the colors and resin over time

  • Avoid excessive temperatures

  • Do not place any resin in a dishwasher

  • No soaking

  • No microwave

  • Do not scrub with an abrasive cleaner

  • Do not put in the freezer

To clean any resin piece - use a soft rag and mild soap or water. You can also use a window cleaner to keep your piece looking brand new. Window cleaner is not recommended if you are cleaning a tray or any item you will be placing food on.

housewares

Each item is designed with materials considered food-safe. Hand wash with mild soap and water.

Wood/slate housewares

Do not soak wood items. After the board is dry, rub the wood or slate with a small amount of olive or mineral oil to protect the surface for longer lasting health of the board. Wood/ Slate portion of the item is safe for chopping (both front and back). The art portion of the item is not safe for chopping as you can scratch up the resin area.

Resin housewares

  • Housewares such as trays and cake stands made from full resin - Each item is made with food-safe resin, however there is some controversy about how food-safe a resin can be. I suggest placing food in other containers (such as a cupcake liner or parchment) before placing on the resin houseware.

  • Coasters: Wipe with soft rag and mild soap or window cleaner. Do not let buildup of condensation stay on coasters as this may cause them to stick together when stacked which could lead to indents.   Resin can be become malleable with high heat - be aware of this with hot beverages. If this occurs,  wipe coasters with soft rag and place on flat countertop to let it re - harden and it will flatten out.

  • Cups: Hand wash only with gentle soap and water. No dishwasher, no soaking, no microwave.

  • Jewelry: Remove before entering water. Do not use harsh chemicals, Remove when sleeping. Clean with mild soap and water. Do not leave in extreme heat or direct sunlight. Allow perfumes and lotions to dry before wearing.

hanging artwork

You can easily pick up hanging materials at your local hardware store. To make things easier I have included some small bundle packages for hanging items that can be purchased under the hardware section of the store.

  • Pictures: All pictures can be hung with a sawtooth hanger or wires based on your preference

  • Mirrors: Mirrors with no frames can be hung with mirror clips. Mirrors in frames can either be hung with a sawtooth hanger or wires based on your preference

  • Shapes: Shapes can also be hung with a tap in sawtooth hanger. To do this place your shape face down on a soft towel. Take the tap in sawtooth and tap into the shape with a hammer. Hang where you like. Another option is to use a regular sawtooth hanger and attach using E6000 glue. Simply turn shape face down on soft towel place two dobs of glue on each side of the sawtooth and press and hold it on to the piece.
